Nana Grizol performed at this years Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona on May 29th. They took a brief east coast tour surrounding the festival. Look for more details here. More information about the festival can be found here.

Orange Twin residents Lacy and Maggie Run a small organic farm called Tiny Farm in Hull, GA. They produce most of the veggies we eat at Orange Twin. There's a super cute video of them on their farm here. They still have some CSA shares available for Athens area dwellers. Pick up will be at Orange Twin on Thursday evenings. Friend and hero Vic Chesnutt passed away on December 25th, 2009. His loss is felt deeply in his town of Athens, GA and all over the world. click here for a page dedicated to his memory, with videos made during his tour with Elf Power and edited by Jimmy Hughes.

At the end of the year 2008, we were pleased to place 100 acres of the Orange Twin land into a conservation easement with the Oconee River Land Trust. Doing this costs about $5,000 dollars which goes to cover their legal, office and other expenses. we put out a call for donations and so far have recieved over $1,200 help offset this expense. In all, we have about $2,000 to go, which is getting really close! If you'd like to make a donations, you can click here to go to the ORLT's donation page. Orange Twin is excited to announce our Fall Festival! The event will take place at the Orange Twin Conservation Community in Athens, GA, and will have performances from Neil Hamburger, Vic Chesnutt, Elf Power, Nana Grizol and Scott E. Spillane EXP. Tickets cost $12 and are available at our online store, as well as Wuxtry records and Schoolkids records in Athens. The event is being held in conjunction with the AUX Festival which is bringing the legendary group Faust as well as Athens' own Circulatory System to the 40 Watt Club on Saturday, October 10, as well as a workshop with Faust on Sunday, October 11.

Camping will be available at the land for the entire weekend. If you are interested in camping, please RSVP to laura@orangetwin.com.

Directions from the land: From downtown Athens, take North Ave./Danielsville Rad 4.5 miles north. Just after the new school, take the soft left onto Helican Springs Rd. Take the first paved left onto Noketchee Creek Rd. The main entrance will be on the left.

Parking: We will also be charging for parking based on vehicle occupancy. Proceeds from parking will go to the Orange Twin ACE Foundation. Parking is Free for full cars, $5 if there are 3-4 people in the car, $10 if tere are 2 people, and $20 if there's only one person in the car. There will be ride share coordinating information at the Orange Twin E6 Townhall messageboard.

There will be a vegetarian live food cart on site to serve your snacking needs. In the event of rain, we will move the show to the old Girl Scouts' pavilion in the heart of the Orange Twin land. This is where the designated camping area is located.

No one could accuse Vic Chesnutt of taking it too easy. Constellation Records has announced a new collaboration between Vic and the Crew from 2007's North Star Deserter to be titled At the Cut, and a track from the album, titled "Chain" can be heard at Constellation's website. The album will be released in Late September. Vic also worked with Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse for a track on their album Dark Night of the Soul, which can ve heard in its entirety at npr.org. Don't forget to check out his tourdates.

You may have seen Madeline Adams on tour early this summer in the midwest, France or the United Kingdom with friends Defiance, Ohio, or in July on the east coast with friends The Ginger Envelope. we asked her for some pictures from her travels and here's what we got.

The film debuted in Germany in November 2008, and in the United States in January 2009. It is about a photographer who moves to the Italian city of Palemo seeking change in his life. The film features Sibylle's beautiful new song "Let Us Know." It's really great.
